Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege of San Fer­nan­do and its coach Shawn Coop­er will be con­fi­dent of tak­ing an­oth­er gi­ant step to­wards be­ing crowned South Zone BGTT/First Cit­i­zens Sec­ondary Schools Foot­ball League cham­pi­ons when it faces cel­lar-placed Moru­ga in the first match of a dou­ble-head­er at the Man­nie Ramjohn Sta­di­um, Mara­bel­la, from 3 pm to­day.

So far this sea­son, Pre­sen­ta­tion, led by the in-form Shack­iel Hen­ry who has net­ted 16 goals in nine match­es, has amassed max­i­mum 27 points from nine match­es to be the lone team with a 100 per cent win­ning record in all five zones and with a vic­to­ry over Moru­ga, which it clob­bered 6-0 in the first round, can claim the zon­al ti­tle ahead of sched­ule if de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Shi­va Boys, eight points be­hind with a match in hand, fail to beat Princes Town at the David Williams Recre­ation Ground, Pe­nal from 3.45 pm.

In the oth­er match at Mara­bel­la, third-placed for­mer cham­pi­ons, Na­pari­ma and Pleas­antville do bat­tle from 5 pm. Up in the North, all eyes will be fo­cused on the "Bat­tle of the Saints" at West­moor­ings where reign­ing zon­al and na­tion­al cham­pi­ons, St An­tho­ny's wel­comes St Mary's to the "Tiger Den." When both teams met in the first round, the "Tigers," who lead with 21 points from nine match­es, clawed St Mary's 3-0 and a sim­i­lar re­sult will keep them on course for a suc­cess­ful ti­tle de­fence.

How­ev­er, should the vis­it­ing "Saints," third with 14 points, man­age to halt its ri­val 28-match un­beat­en run dat­ing back to the start of last year, it will throw the ti­tle race wide open with East Mu­cu­rapo, sec­ond with 18 points and on a bye, al­so in the fray. Fa­ti­ma, com­ing off a 3-3 draw with Queen's Roy­al Col­lege, but still in the mix with 14 points, will seek a bet­ter re­sult away to Diego Mar­tin North in the zone's oth­er match.

With East Zone lead­ers' Ari­ma North (21 points) on a bye to­day, the chas­ing trio of San Juan North (17 pts), de­fend­ing cham­pi­on El Do­ra­do East (16), and St Au­gus­tine (14), will all have chances to close the gap at the top with vic­to­ries to­day at home to To­co, Trin­i­ty East and El Do­ra­do West. In the Cen­tral Zone, de­fend­ing cham­pi­on and front-run­ners Cara­pichaima East with 15 points from six match­es is ex­pect­ed to have lit­tle trou­ble at home to cel­lar-placed Gas­par­il­lo which it ham­mered 8-1 in their first round meet­ing led by the league's top scor­er in Shaquille Hold­er who has 19 goals to his name.

How­ev­er, sec­ond-placed Ch­agua­nas North, a point be­hind will al­so need to pick up full points against third-placed Cou­va West which is blanked 3-0 in round one to stay in the ti­tle race ahead of their top-of-the-ta­ble show­down on Oc­to­ber 20, while Pre­sen­ta­tion and Tabaquite meet at Pre­sen­ta­tion.

Over in To­ba­go, lead­ers Scar­bor­ough, buoyed by its 1-0 vic­to­ry over ri­vals Sig­nal Hill to move to ten points from four match­es, can take a big step to­wards to the ti­tle with a vic­to­ry over sec­ond placed-Spey­side which is four points be­hind, when the two face off at the Dwight York Sta­di­um Train­ing Ground, Ba­co­let.

Ma­son Hall and Rox­bor­ough, both yet to get a win this sea­son from three and two match­es re­spec­tive­ly meet at Ply­mouth Recre­ation Ground in the oth­er match.
