The Matu­ra riv­er has been de­scribed as a hid­den gem, with its many ex­cit­ing pools, wa­ter­falls and gorges to ex­plore.

Man­u­lot is a gor­geous wa­ter­fall lo­cat­ed five miles up­stream the riv­er, in the heart of the Matu­ra For­est. What makes this falls strik­ing­ly beau­ti­ful is that it flows from a trib­u­tary in­to the main wa­ter-course. At the base of the falls where the two streams meet the ki­net­ic en­er­gy of the wa­ter has erod­ed the rocks to form a plunge pool over the lime­stone edge.

The falls is more spec­tac­u­lar in the rainy sea­son when the wa­ter flow is at it's high­est and the cur­tain flow of wa­ter cas­cad­ing along the rocks adds bril­liance to the scenery.

The two hour hike to Man­u­lot is just as many as an at­trac­tion as the falls it­self. It fea­tures a trek through lush pine and beau­ti­ful moun­tain flo­ra. The trail that winds it way down to the riv­er is wide with gen­tle in­clines. At the riv­er there is a large pool for bathing or the op­tion to ex­plore fur­ther up­stream to ac­cess the falls. Along the way the nu­mer­ous basins are invit­ing to splash in and there is a rock that has the shape of Africa.
