Francesca Rousseau, principal of Newtown Girls RC School is the new president of the T&T Netball Association (TTNA). The veteran educator was elected to the post unopposed at the sport annual general meeting (AGM) at the VIP Lounge, Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo last Saturday. Rousseau replaced incumbent Patricia Butcher, who did not stand for re-election. Assistant secretary Beverly Cruickshank is the only person who retained her position from the previous executive.
The meeting which was attended by representatives from the Port of Spain, San Fernando, Mayaro, Tobago, Republic Bank and All Sectors Netball Leagues. All other officers were elected unopposed to replace treasurer Alden Lewis, Public Relation Officer (PRO) Lynette Duncan, first vice president Martha Archer, second vice president Austrid Rochford and general secretary Carol Demming-Gittens. The new executive includes Angela Joseph-Walcott, who will served as the second vice president, Beverly Rodgers as treasurer and Keith Clement as the PRO. Rochford will now fill the general secretary position while Lewis and Marlene Gilbert are the trustees.
