Trinidad and Tobago TV Film festival is in full swing this month, running until July 31. For the next four weeks, the national television viewing audience will have an opportunity to watch all local short films, documentaries, TV series, animations on six major television broadcasters-TV6, Gayelle TV, CNC3, GISL, CNMG and WIN TV.Producers for this year's Festival include Ryan Khan, Patricia Mohammed, Sigmond Cromwell and Tracy Assing. Roger Alexis, the mind behind Lexo TV and the viral, puppet personality "Santana" also endorsed the Festival highly.
"I think it's an excellent idea for producers, not all of us have the opportunity to have a forum as big as national TV to display our work. With the help of the TTFC and the TV Film Festival, it's an opportunity of which every filmmaker should take advantage." His series, "Herman's Tales" will be featured during the Festival with Santana starring in the Herman's Tales-Gangster episode.
Animated shorts will also feature heavily in this year's Festival from animators such as Stefano Caines, Rene Holder, Kevin Bhall and Animae Caribe's founder Camille Selvon Abrahams, who wrote to the TTFC with high commendations, "I feel extremely honoured to have my shorts screened on local TV and on top of that to be paid for it. This is a first I think for Trinidad and I think it shows great promise for the future.
"I think Trinidad and Tobago is very fortunate to have a company like this in their midst. I have been to many islands and when I talk about the support that the industry gets from you guys they are often amazed. I thank you again for the continued support."For a detailed programme of the films in the 2011 TV Film Festival, please visit the website www.trinidadandtobagofilm.com and the Film Company's Face Book fan page (Search: Trinidad and Tobago Film Company).
