For­mer prime min­is­ter Bas­deo Pan­day says con­stituents of Barataria/San Jaun have com­plained of not hav­ing ac­cess to their Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment Dr Fuad Khan.Pan­day said that was be­cause Khan who was the Min­is­ter of Health, who was still in­volved in his pri­vate prac­tice as a urol­o­gist.He said it was wrong for Khan to be a min­is­ter and al­so car­ry out his pri­vate prac­tice. Pan­day said it was a sim­i­lar sit­u­a­tion to Works and In­fra­struc­ture Min­is­ter Jack Warn­er al­so be­ing an ex­ec­u­tive mem­ber of world foot­ball gov­ern­ing body, FI­FA.He said Khan should re­alise that based on his salary his job as a min­is­ter was full time.

Pan­day said Khan's "con­stituents were suf­fer­ing, even though he claims he was do­ing his pri­vate job af­ter 4 pm and on week­ends."He said Khan should give up his pri­vate prac­tice to en­sure he was able to do his job, not on­ly as a min­is­ter, but as a politi­cian.He said Khan should have told the Prime Min­is­ter when asked to ac­cept the health port­fo­lio that he could not "at this time" be­cause he would have had to con­clude the mat­ters be­fore him in his med­ical prac­tice.Khan has in­sist­ed he has done no wrong and has not breached the In­tegri­ty in Pub­lic Life Act.
