Attorney General Anand Ramlogan says action will be taken against people engaged in the illegal bunkering and sale of diesel fuel. He told yesterday's post-Cabinet news conference at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann's, he was in possession of an audit report submitted by the Energy Minister which he would be looking at this weekend. He said the document "provides substantial evidence to suggest that there may be widespread illegal sale and siphoning off diesel fuel and it is a thriving underworld industry." Ramlogan said on completion of his study of the report this weekend "action will be taken against those who are involved in the illegal trade of fuel, selling it at an under price for private gain and commercial profit."
