Anti-crime exercises in south Trinidad over the weekend resulted in the arrests of 29 people. Police offiers from the Southern Division CID and CSU conducted roadblocks and raids in San Fernando, Princes Town and Moruga and eight persons were held for possession of narcotics, 15 on outstanding warrants and six for robberies and other offences.
The exercise was carried out between 6 am Sunday and 6 am yesterday under the supervision of Senior Superintendent Dulalchan and Superintendent Maynard and was executed by a party of officers, led by Inspector Lumy and Sergeant Gajadhar. The persons arrested are due to appear before magistrates in San Fernando and Princes Town.
