T&T's shoot­ing star Roger Daniel will be in ac­tion to­day on the sec­ond day of the Pan Amer­i­can Games in Quade­la­jara, Mex­i­co.Daniel, will take aim in the qual­i­fi­ca­tion round of the Men's 10m Air Pis­tol event in the 16th edi­tion of the Games.At the last Games which was host­ed in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, the sol­dier placed 14th in the event.T&T women's beach vol­ley­ball team of El­ki Phillip and Ayana Dyette will al­so be ac­tion in a tough match up against world cham­pi­on duo Ju­liana Sil­va and Laris­sa Fran­ca of Brazil in their open­ing Pool B match at the Pan Amer­i­can Beach Vol­ley­ball Sta­di­um in Jalis­co.

To­mor­row, the lo­cal pair will play Cubans Niri­an and On­aya­mi Sinal and on Tues­day Ar­i­ana Vilela/Kather­ine Chi­la of Ecuador in their fi­nal pre­lim­i­nary match.In 2007, T&T won four medals a sil­ver from cy­clist Emile Abra­ham in the Men's In­di­vid­ual Road Race, and three bronze from shot-put­ter Cleopa­tra Borel, swim­mer George Bovell and Chine­dum Os­u­ji.Bovell suc­cess came in the in the Men's 50m freestyle and Os­u­ji in the Men's -80kg taek­won­do event. Je­re­mi­ah Bish­op added a bronze in the men's event.There were nine more gold medals to be won on the first day of com­pe­ti­tion in Guadala­jara, in­clud­ing five in the swim­ming pool.Ir­miger won the 24.8-kilo­me­ter moun­tain bike cir­cuit, in one hour, 34 min­utes, 9 sec­onds.Lau­ra Loren­za Morfin of Mex­i­co took sil­ver in 1:35:54 and Aman­da Sin of Cana­da was third in 1:37:14.De­fend­ing cham­pi­on Hec­tor Paez of Colom­bia won the gold medal in the men's race in 1:31:12, fol­lowed by Max Plax­ton of Cana­da in sec­ond in 1:31:29. Bish­op was third in 1:32:41.
