The Bible and Chris­tian­i­ty: Their Im­pend­ing Demise and a For­ward-Look­ing Plea, by Dr R Buck­ri­dan will be launched at the Nalis AV The­atre, Port-of-Spain, on No­vem­ber 27, 2011, at 5 pm. Among the pre­sen­ters are ra­dio an­nounc­er Faz Ali, at­tor­neys Fyardh Ho­sein and Richard Sir­joo. They will be joined by ra­dio per­son­al­i­ty George Um­bala Joseph and imam Maulana Sheikh Sher­az, li­brar­i­an Ansel­ma Mo­hammed and ca­lyp­son­ian Hol­lis Liv­er­pool "Chalk­dust" of UTT (PhD in Lit­er­a­ture and Eth­no­mu­si­col­o­gy). The pre­sen­ters in­clude Trevor Hoskins (DDS), and pun­dit Ramesh Ti­warie from the pres­ti­gious Catholic, St Paul Uni­ver­si­ty, Ot­tawa, Cana­da.

The book ad­dress­es se­ri­ous is­sues about Bib­li­cal er­rors, au­thor­ship, and dif­fer­ent ver­sions of the Bible. Ref­er­ence is made to the most up-to-date dis­cov­er­ies and per­spec­tives con­cern­ing the pa­gan-em­bell­ished Christ. Mir­a­cles are tout­ed as ac­tu­al oc­cur­rences, and the like­ly non-ex­is­tence of cer­tain im­por­tant fig­ures in the scrip­tures are be­ing dis­cussed and pro­posed by Chris­t­ian re­search schol­ars. More im­por­tant­ly, it seeks to ad­dress whether Chris­tian­i­ty is a hu­man in­ven­tion with cer­tain hi­er­ar­chi­cal mem­bers mo­nop­o­lis­ing pow­er and prof­it while the mass is en­slaved in­to so­cial con­for­mi­ty. It seeks to help peo­ple un­der­stand re­li­gion with­out fol­low­ing it blind­ly.
