The Trac­mac cor­po­rate so­cial re­spon­si­bil­i­ty team came out in their num­bers re­cent­ly to help the chil­dren of the Ch­agua­nas-based Jaya Lak­sh­mi Home learn the ba­sics of farm­ing and agri­cul­ture.The project, which was themed, Grow With Us, was fo­cused on teach­ing the chil­dren some of the ba­sics of agri­cul­tur­al farm­ing, specif­i­cal­ly veg­etable farm­ing.The team taught plant­i­ng tech­niques for let­tuce, toma­toes, patchoi, sweet pep­pers, hot pep­pers and paw paw.

In a state­ment, Trac­mac, a mem­ber of the Neal and Massy Group, said it do­nat­ed gar­den­ing tools, fer­tilis­er and spray cans and taught the old­er chil­dren ba­sic main­te­nance prac­tices to en­sure the sus­tain­abil­i­ty of the gar­den."As they con­tin­ue their dri­ve to in­crease agri­cul­tur­al aware­ness, mem­bers of the Trac­mac group have sched­uled fu­ture vis­its to the home, to har­vest and re­plant crops.

Trac­mac was al­so proud to host an evening of Christ­mas ex­cite­ment, on No­vem­ber 24, for the 19 res­i­dents of the home.The chil­dren gath­ered at the Trac­mac com­pound and were treat­ed fun in a boun­cy cas­tle, face paint­ing, bran tub and a pup­pet show.San­ta Claus al­so paid a vis­it to dis­trib­ute gifts.
