Once the nominations are assessed and candidates identified, the committee will select its three best candidates. Candidates will be judged in three categories-Arts and Letters, Public, Science and Technology and Public and Civic Contributions, with each winner taking home a $500,000 award, a medal and a citation at a ceremony to be held in April. The prizes are fully funded by the ANSA McAL Foundation. The Caribbean Awards for Excellence is the first of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean.
