The Parent /Teacher Association (PTA) of Holy Name Convent, Port-of-Spain, recently launched its first-ever mega fund-raising raffle. Convent principal Wendy Aqui received the keys to the first prize (a Hyundai Verna 1.4L GLS sedan) from David Jardim, chief executive officer, Neal and Massy Automotive Ltd, at the Morvant showroom. Also attending from Neal and Massy was Jennelle George, Hyundai brand specialist.
Representing the school were vice-principal Francis Lacaille Perkins and members of the PTA, including president Junior Joseph, Richard Joseph and Tracey Hoford.
In addition to this first place prize, the raffle has 17 other prizes, including two return tickets to Barbados (second prize), courtesy of Caribbean Airlines, and a Tobago vacation for two (third prize). Other prizes in this mega raffle include jewelry, a spa gift vouchers and a Nintendo Wii gaming console. Tickets are priced at $5 each and a $50 book of tickets includes two bonus tickets. Proceeds will go towards the school's building fund for expansion of facilities to enable the delivery of a wider curriculum.
