The Par­ent /Teacher As­so­ci­a­tion (PTA) of Holy Name Con­vent, Port-of-Spain, re­cent­ly launched its first-ever mega fund-rais­ing raf­fle. Con­vent prin­ci­pal Wendy Aqui re­ceived the keys to the first prize (a Hyundai Ver­na 1.4L GLS sedan) from David Jardim, chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, Neal and Massy Au­to­mo­tive Ltd, at the Mor­vant show­room. Al­so at­tend­ing from Neal and Massy was Jen­nelle George, Hyundai brand spe­cial­ist.

Rep­re­sent­ing the school were vice-prin­ci­pal Fran­cis La­caille Perkins and mem­bers of the PTA, in­clud­ing pres­i­dent Ju­nior Joseph, Richard Joseph and Tracey Ho­ford.

In ad­di­tion to this first place prize, the raf­fle has 17 oth­er prizes, in­clud­ing two re­turn tick­ets to Bar­ba­dos (sec­ond prize), cour­tesy of Caribbean Air­lines, and a To­ba­go va­ca­tion for two (third prize). Oth­er prizes in this mega raf­fle in­clude jew­el­ry, a spa gift vouch­ers and a Nin­ten­do Wii gam­ing con­sole. Tick­ets are priced at $5 each and a $50 book of tick­ets in­cludes two bonus tick­ets. Pro­ceeds will go to­wards the school's build­ing fund for ex­pan­sion of fa­cil­i­ties to en­able the de­liv­ery of a wider cur­ricu­lum.
