Mohammed also accused Baptiste-Cornelis of interfering in the process saying: "We are advised that the change was made directly by the Minister of Health. "A senior obstetrician and now a senior lecturer at the medical school, Dr Bharat Basaw, is replaced by his junior Dr Adesh Sirjusingh, who is one of the minister's two appointees of the council of the Medical Board." She also said another change to the investigation team was the inclusion of Stewart Smith who was allegedly appointed by the minister to do enquiries on doctors. Because of such breaches, Mohammed said there was a breach of process because of political interference and therefore, doctors were advised not to participate in the investigations.
