For­mer T&T left-hand­ed bats­man Gre­go­ry Ma­habir copped the Crick­eter of the Year award at First Cit­i­zens Clarke Road 2010 prize-giv­ing cer­e­mo­ny at Pe­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Cen­tre, in Batchiya Vil­lage, Pe­nal, on Fri­day night. It was a night of dom­i­nance by the Ma­habir fam­i­ly, as his younger broth­er and for­mer na­tion­al Un­der-15 cap­tain, Alon Ma­habir, took the Re­serve League Crick­eter of the Year ti­tle. Gre­go­ry scored 668 runs in the East­ern Cred­it Union Pre­mier­ship league at an av­er­age of 95.42 and in­clud­ed among his runs were three un­beat­en cen­turies. In the Sun­day League he al­so ex­celled and scored 379 runs at an av­er­age of 63.16. Alon on the oth­er hand scored 260 runs in the Re­serve league at 32.5 and al­so cap­tured 26 wick­ets. He alos got cen­turies against Wan­der­ers and Pow­er­Gen. In the 40-over tour­na­ment he scored 403 runs at 100.75 and al­so scalped 14 wick­ets.
