However, out of date laws or not, I keep being told that nothing can be done to change the structure until the law is changed and how long does that take in this fair land? Might I suggest with respect, that racing's major problem is that no Government Minister since Errol Mahabir has had any interest in or meaningful knowledge of horse racing, so as a general statement, the sport/business has always been a low priority for successive regimes. Minister Stephen Cadiz is a great guy; his sister Elizabeth has been one of my all-time favourite people for 50 years and his mother and mine were best friends at school, but despite such an impeccable network, I am not sure if he has ever been to races. If I am wrong, I apologize profusely - but you get the point. If one is not very knowledgeable on a topic, any idea can be made to sound wonderful or the opposite, depending on the presenter. I promised last week to write on the formation of Wes Hall Youth Cricket League, but space has run out so with apologies for not keeping my word, I will try to tackle that topic next week unless something dramatic takes place.
Good luck to all punters at the track today.
