Asked if T&T could ex­pect a lot of labour un­rest in the new year, he said it all de­pend­ed on if the Gov­ern­ment di­a­logued with Natuc to car­ry the econ­o­my for­ward. He said while the Gov­ern­ment might be con­sid­er­ing tak­ing aus­ter­i­ty mea­sures to pro­tect the econ­o­my, Natuc be­lieved in the stim­u­lus ap­proach (in­creas­ing work­ers' salaries and their pur­chas­ing pow­ers). He said Natuc was the largest fed­er­a­tion of trade unions in T&T and it was recog­nised in­ter­na­tion­al­ly and it was in­cum­bent on the Gov­ern­ment to meet with it. "We're not beg­ging for a meet­ing, we're de­mand­ing it," An­nisette said. He said Natuc would call on the PM and Fi­nance Min­is­ter Win­ston Dook­er­an to meet with it.
