A few years ago, Seema Mahabir-Dolsingh made a defining decision—to confront a series of personal challenges head-on and build a business from the ground up, with little more than determination and vision.
Through sleepless nights and uncertain days, she remained anchored to a singular goal: helping others preserve their eye health.
Stepping forward with resolve while navigating life’s storms, Mahabir-Dolsingh committed herself to serving her community through accessible and reliable optical care.
Her journey reflects a resilience often seen in stories of global success, where adversity becomes the foundation for growth.
Today, that perseverance has translated into a thriving enterprise. Mahabir-Dolsingh is expressing gratitude to the staff, customers and clients who have supported her optical service, 800 EYES, over the past seven years.
“Today, (April 15) marks seven years of serving you—our community—and we at 800 EYES want to thank our dedicated team, trusted partners and valued customers for your continued support,” she said. “Your trust in us for eye care, eye exams and eyewear has helped us to grow over the years.
“We are grateful for every patient who has walked through our doors, and we look forward to continuing to provide reliable, professional service for many more years. We will continue to guide you with the information you need, while equipping ourselves with upgraded knowledge, skills and technology to go the extra mile.”
Under Mahabir-Dolsingh’s leadership, the 800 EYES team includes director and optometrist Isaiah Paul, optometrists Alana Lutchmansingh and La Shaunda Joseph, along with optical assistants Mortimer Kansinally, Sacha Lutchman-Singh and Tinika Semurath.
From humble beginnings to a growing presence in the optical field, Mahabir-Dolsingh’s journey underscores the impact of perseverance, community trust and a clear sense of purpose.
