Divali in Cunupia 2025 unfolded as a luminous celebration of light over darkness—a night that transcended tradition to embrace renewal, gratitude, and togetherness.
Hosted by Ramps Logistics, the annual celebration brought together employees, partners, and families from across the organisation and its extended community. The setting reflected not only reverence for heritage but also the artistry and connection that define both the festival and the company’s culture.
The evening began with the ceremonial lighting of the first deya by the Rampersad family—a moment of quiet reflection that set the tone for what would become an unforgettable night. From there, the stage came alive with rhythm, colour, and spirit.
Performances by Devashish Ramdath and Group, Kaveesh Maharaj and band, and steelpan virtuoso Joshua Regrello alongside tabla player Viraj Ramsundar captivated the audience, blending classical and contemporary sounds. The night reached its crescendo with a high-energy closing set by DJ Ari, Agent SB, and a tassa group that had the crowd dancing in joyful celebration.
Adding a modern dimension to the festivities was an illuminated display by EVolve Mobility — a striking reminder that progress and heritage can move forward together. The installation invited guests to reflect on how technology, innovation, and tradition can coexist, lighting the path toward a more connected future.
Reflecting on the evening, Shaun Rampersad, CEO of Ramps Logistics, said: “Divali reminds us that the real light comes from within our people. It’s in the connections we build, the experiences we share, and the progress we create together. Tonight reflects who we are, team that believes in leading with purpose and shining together.”
As the night unfolded, the grounds glowed with hundreds of flickering deyas—each flame a symbol of hope, faith, and renewal. Conversations flowed easily, laughter echoed through the air, and children ran between rows of light, their faces illuminated by wonder.
Divali in Cunupia has grown beyond an annual observance; it has become a hallmark of unity and cultural reverence. The celebration honours where the community comes from while celebrating how far it has journeyed, a reminder that light, when shared, multiplies.
In every deya, every note of music, and every smile exchanged that evening, the message was unmistakable: when we share light, we share hope.
