It’s not surprising that there are millions of people going through adult life leading unhealthy lifestyles and a system that can treat and manage the symptoms of illness and keep you alive longer, than ever before. From the look of things if we continue with this trend it’s going to be crippling, yet we seem to be comfortable with this lifestyle. Everyone at some point in their life talks about achieving it from a holistic perspective, but most people always have an excuse as to why they can’t, won’t, or don’t want to change their complacent status.
One of the most common excuses I often hear for not trying to have a healthy lifestyle is “I don’t have time.” My response, usually to such: if you have a cell phone you have time to take care of your health. It begs the question, what can you do to be victorious where your health is concerned. With time out as an excuse, what are you going to do tomorrow? Start by taking ten minutes alone and do a few deep breathing exercises more than you think. In a brief ten (10) minute window you can release tension, prevent future frustration feeling totally relaxed and get your blood flowing as it is designed to do, etc. What this would ultimately do is put you in a mood to move around rather than feeling pensive and lazy. Note leaving these foods out of your diet can also help complement your new habit…fast-food burgers, processed and cured meats, deep fried foods, candy, soft drinks and sugar-sweetened juices, sugary cereals, cookies, pastries and margarine, start with these few and you are on you way to victorious health. Although everyone needs a different amount of sleep, most studies have found that getting at least seven hours of sleep per night is associated with benefits when it comes to optimum health. Get creative and have fun with your new found habits. You can do some walking, short sprints, jumping jacks, bodyweight squats, mixing up different rounds of intervals is also a good way to keep improving so long as you are moving, even the seemingly innocuous things would get you results.
Somehow time and health always seem to be at odds with each other. We have no one to blame but ourselves for that we make time for, work, time for parties, business associates and friends, but very little time to spend on ourselves, people we love, or even random people who deserve our attention. A healthy lifestyle is one which helps to keep and improve people’s health and well-being, healthy living is a lifelong effect. At the end of the day when it all sums up, being healthy includes healthy eating habits, physical activities, weight management, and stress management. A man may be immensely rich but if he has a grave disease like a stroke or cancer, all his wealth becomes almost useless. He will not be able to enjoy comforts. Overall good health allows you to be the best that you can be the best you know-how. For more health tips and information, keep reading the Health Plus Magazine in the Trinidad Guardian.
