After an absence of 11 years, the Trinidad Hilton will once again host an all-inclusive Carnival fete, general manager Olivier Maumaire announced yesterday.
The event, Lavish, will be held at the hotel’s newly renovated poolside and will feature acts such as Superblue, Nadia Batson and Nailah Blackman.
Maumaire explained that the return of the fete was inspired by numerous calls from the public for the Hilton to once again stage an event for Carnival.
“I discovered through these years, from people I meet, they talk about the Hilton and what they used to come to do here. I think it’s only right to go back to that,” he said.
Maumaire said the event was not a response to Hyatt’s popular Lime all-inclusive which is held on the Wednesday before Carnival.
“We started about two years ago to plan where we are going back to our legacy and really do something elegant for the community in terms of the hotel facilities but also service,” he said.
It will be held on Sunday, February 24 with general tickets priced at $900 and VIP tickets for $1,200.
While other fetes have been held at the hotel, this will the first organised by the hotel since The Extreme in 2008.
