Goatober, the annual “Festival of Goat” is back to excite food lovers for yet another year.
In Goat We Trust is the theme for the fourth edition of this culinary event, which celebrates one of the nation’s favourite meats.
In Goat We Trust takes place on October 25 and takes the form of a cocktail-styled brunch party with two of the country’s top chefs at the helm—Brigette Joseph and Rondell Thompson.
GoatoberTT founder Franka Philip says this Goatober celebration will be different from those in the past. “We’re used to our signature event being a somewhat formal dining occasion, but I really enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere at our lunch last year and wanted to incorporate more music this time, so I decided to give Goatober more of a party vibe.
“This year’s venue at NAPA Hotel is perfect for that. The food brings everyone together, but the music and the atmosphere should make them want to stay.”
The theme In Goat We Trust, is a fun play on a well-known saying and the operative word is indeed trust.
“First, we trust our product. There’s a significant amount of quality local goat in our menu, which shows the trust in our farmers. And more importantly, we trust chefs Rondell and Brigette to deliver a culinary experience inspired by our own local traditions and their excellent standards.”
Rondell Thompson is the head chef at the Chaud Restaurant Group and has been quietly making his mark on the local culinary landscape and is known for his imaginative combinations and eye-catching presentation.
A protege of local icon Chef Khalid Mohammed, Thompson has already proved his worth against the region’s top chefs with a win in 2025’s Maggi Food Court Caribbean competition.
Chef Brigette is a Goatober original. Her reputation as a chef and culinary storyteller continues to grow. She recently returned from Toronto, where she served her seven-course Savannah Supper to sold-out audiences at Miss Likklemore’s restaurant.
Joseph will also be hosting her popular Cheat Night as a part of Goatober celebrations. Cheat Night, is a pop-up event that she’s been hosting for several years, since the days of her food truck, The G Spot. Streetfood items like curry spring rolls and Mexican-influenced goat birria arancini are at the heart of this big flavoured menu pop-up at Soundforge in Mucurapo.
