Katha Kala Sangam observed Saraswati Jayanti at the Beepath Ranch Cultural Centre in Caparo on February 1. The event honours the birth of Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, art, speech, wisdom and learning.
Saraswati is represented by the colour white and is often depicted with four arms, seated beside a hamsa, or swan, a symbol of spiritual perfection. In one of her hands, she holds a musical instrument called the veena, which represents all creative arts and sciences.
