On September 6, the Insurance Association South Chapter brought the house down with their very first Back in Time fundraiser party at Carnival City—and what a blast it was!
The well-attended event saw members of the insurance fraternity dressed to the nines in funky, retro-inspired outfits, ready to groove the night away to the hottest hits of the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
The dance floor was electric as partygoers lined up for the conga line, glided through the electric slide, and nailed every move of the cha cha slide. Laughter echoed and cheers erupted as prizes were awarded for Best Dressed Male, Best Dressed Female, and Best Dancer—the competition was fierce, and the vibes even fiercer!
President Trudy Pedro proudly shared that the South Chapter consists of nine dedicated members from various insurance companies, including Risha Baddaloo (immediate past president), Joanne Baptiste (vice president), Kevin Persad (secretary), Ria Murray-Payne (assistant secretary), and board members Kendell Balkaran, Keston Hackett, Kris Deonanan, and Stefan Jogie.
She emphasised the heart behind the event, “Our events are designed to create camaraderie within the industry, to bring awareness to the Association, and to give back to the communities from which we operate.”
Pedro added, “Part of the proceeds from this event will be used to assist two schools in south Trinidad with much-needed materials for minor repairs. We chose this cause because kids are the future, and we feel it is necessary to work with our little ones who may have fallen through the cracks over the years.” With the overwhelming success of the night, plans are already in motion for next year’s edition.
