The Lost Tribe’s Fete Yard, staged this Car­ni­val sea­son in the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah, Port-of-Spain, as part of the city’s pre-Car­ni­val fes­tiv­i­ties, was once again a fo­cal point for so­ca lovers and mas en­thu­si­asts alike.

Po­si­tioned with­in the icon­ic Sa­van­nah grounds—a his­toric epi­cen­tre for Trinidad and To­ba­go’s Car­ni­val cul­ture—the event drew a mixed crowd of lo­cals and vis­i­tors in­to a live­ly, themed cel­e­bra­tion that blurred the lines be­tween tra­di­tion­al Car­ni­val char­ac­ter homage and con­tem­po­rary par­ty cul­ture.

This year’s it­er­a­tion, dubbed the Leg­ends Ball, en­cour­aged pa­trons to em­body icons from so­ca, ca­lyp­so and chut­ney his­to­ry, com­plete with flam­boy­ant cos­tumes, run­way vibes and a red-car­pet feel that leaned in­to both nos­tal­gia and cre­ative ex­pres­sion.
