The eagerly anticipated 33rd Biennial T&T Music Festival begins Sunday. Registration at four centres—Port-of-Spain, Central, South and Tobago—has finished.
There was a call earlier for instrumentalists, composers, arrangers. singers, as well as musicians running the gamut from pannists, pianists, violinists, trumpeters, saxophonists, and drummers to participate in the festival.
The action starts today as Carnival 2020 goes to bed and ended on March 28.
Started in 1947, the music festival has been a staple for choirs, singers, musicians, and schools who participate in a packed programme.
Many prominent singers and musicians have been participants of the great festival, among them Kees Diefenthaller of Kes the Band.
The festival has had its ups and downs for funding but has survived the years, thanks to dedicated sponsors, volunteers and financial input of the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts.
The last festival held in 2018 was a blast!
