A team of Xtra Foods Su­per­mar­kets Ltd. em­ploy­ees, to­geth­er with past and present teach­ers, par­ents and stu­dents, re­cent­ly joined forces to give Mon Re­pos RC School a fresh coat of paint ahead of the new school aca­d­e­m­ic year on Mon­day.

The ini­tia­tive helped cre­ate a brighter and more wel­com­ing en­vi­ron­ment where stu­dents can learn, grow and cre­ate last­ing mem­o­ries through­out the aca­d­e­m­ic year.

Xtra Foods Su­per­mar­kets CEO An­ge­lo Daniel Austin was among those who par­tic­i­pat­ed in and sup­port­ed the project on Au­gust 29.

“At Xtra Foods, our com­mit­ment to the com­mu­ni­ties we serve ex­tends far be­yond our su­per­mar­ket aisles,” Austin said af­ter­wards about the ini­tia­tive.

“Schools play an es­sen­tial role in shap­ing our chil­dren and strength­en­ing our com­mu­ni­ties. We were there­fore pleased to lend a help­ing hand in cre­at­ing a brighter and more wel­com­ing en­vi­ron­ment for the stu­dents, teach­ers and staff of Mon Re­pos RC School.”

He added: “A fresh coat of paint may seem like a sim­ple ges­ture, but a clean and re­freshed en­vi­ron­ment can help in­spire pride, en­thu­si­asm and a pos­i­tive start to the new aca­d­e­m­ic year. We hope that every­one at Mon Re­pos RC School en­joys the re­newed space.”

Austin not­ed that the ini­tia­tive re­flects the com­pa­ny’s be­lief in com­mu­ni­ty part­ner­ship and its re­spon­si­bil­i­ty to make mean­ing­ful con­tri­bu­tions to the com­mu­ni­ties it serves. He al­so thanked the school’s prin­ci­pal for wel­com­ing and sup­port­ing the project, as well as the Xtra Foods em­ploy­ees who vol­un­teered their time and ef­fort to help com­plete the work.

Prin­ci­pal Al­li­son Abra­ham-Dun­can ex­pressed grat­i­tude to the man­age­ment and staff of Xtra Foods for their gen­er­ous sup­port of the ini­tia­tive. She al­so thanked the par­ents, teach­ers, clean­ers and past stu­dents who gave back to the school and the wider com­mu­ni­ty by con­tribut­ing to the project.

Xtra Foods al­so ex­tend­ed sin­cere ap­pre­ci­a­tion to its part­ners at A.S. Bry­den for spon­sor­ing the rollers and brush­es used dur­ing the paint­ing ex­er­cise. The com­pa­ny fur­ther con­veyed best wish­es to the prin­ci­pal, teach­ers, stu­dents and staff of Mon Re­pos RC, as well as schools across Trinidad and To­ba­go, for a safe, pro­duc­tive and suc­cess­ful new aca­d­e­m­ic year ahead.
