There is a joy about paint­ings out­doors and the tenth an­nu­al Paint Trinidad & To­ba­go is a chance for peo­ple to see pro­fes­sion­al artists at work, de­vel­op­ing their paint­ings in re­sponse to the beau­ty in na­ture, said event or­gan­is­er Pe­ter Shep­pard in a press re­lease. The three-day na­tion­al plein-air-paint­ing event ends to­day, with artists ex­pect­ed to set up easels and paint on lo­ca­tion in San­ta Cruz, Pointe-a-Pierre and Port-of-Spain. Paint Trinidad & To­ba­go is be­ing staged with the sup­port of the Art So­ci­ety, of which Shep­pard is first vice-pres­i­dent, and In­ter­na­tion­al Plein Air Painters. T&T will hold its event at the same time as oth­er coun­tries. "Plein-air artists seek the qual­i­ty of nat­ur­al light and at­mos­phere out­doors," the re­lease said. "Their art­work is in di­rect re­sponse to the beau­ty they find in na­ture. They use a va­ri­ety of me­dia, from oils, through wa­ter­colours and pas­tels. The pub­lic will be able to join in the fun by watch­ing in­di­vid­ual artists work and mov­ing from painter to painter."
