There is a joy about paintings outdoors and the tenth annual Paint Trinidad & Tobago is a chance for people to see professional artists at work, developing their paintings in response to the beauty in nature, said event organiser Peter Sheppard in a press release. The three-day national plein-air-painting event ends today, with artists expected to set up easels and paint on location in Santa Cruz, Pointe-a-Pierre and Port-of-Spain. Paint Trinidad & Tobago is being staged with the support of the Art Society, of which Sheppard is first vice-president, and International Plein Air Painters. T&T will hold its event at the same time as other countries. "Plein-air artists seek the quality of natural light and atmosphere outdoors," the release said. "Their artwork is in direct response to the beauty they find in nature. They use a variety of media, from oils, through watercolours and pastels. The public will be able to join in the fun by watching individual artists work and moving from painter to painter."
