Anna Cecille Holst, a Norwegian investor, reinforces the evidence which shows that women bring a different perspective into boardroom dynamics, that their contributions are appreciated and that creditability can easily be earned once given the opportunity. Training programmes have helped demystify board work to unseasoned women, while networking and mentoring programmes have allowed women who do not necessarily "fit the role" of typical board members to gain access to previously closed networks. The Prime Minister's initiative in creating greater gender equality on state boards is commendable as seen from the cases of other countries. It is also noteworthy that she has not implemented any quota system and has not extended her government's "initiative" on private companies. It is believed that her increasing the number of women on state boards would allow private sector corporations to triumph and follow suit.
