Expansion
Darbasie's plan is to have three restaurants opened before the end of the year. The first one will be opened on Ariapita Avenue. The second one will be opened in Gulf City, and the third restaurant is still "on the drawing board." He's optimistic they will all do well. "T&T is definitely ready for a Wendy's restaurant. What you have to look at is the strength of the brand and Wendy's is a very strong brand. It's what Wendy's stands for. "We will try to deliver an excellent customer service. This means a service that's convenient and fast. It's a service that will deliver fresh quality products on a consistent basis. The way we will differentiate ourselves from the competition and why we will be successful is because we will deliver on a consistent basis." Desk Restaurants' aim is to further develop a strong brand. "One of our goals in our business plan is to have Wendy's as the most recognisable brand in the Caribbean. To be recognisable, it doesn't mean you have to have the most restaurants, but if you can deliver that consistent service, you will dominate the market." After T&T, Darbasie said anything is possible in terms of expansion. "They are not nailed down yet, but future branches out of Trinidad may be in Barbados, Guyana, St Lucia," he said.
