The American Chamber of T&T (AmCham) led 11 companies on a five-day trade mission to Colombia last week. The main object of the mission, which left for Colombia on June 13, was to expand and/or enhance business relations between T&T and Colombia. In a statement, AmCham said it embarked on the mission as it exposes participants to opportunities in Colombia and within wider Latin America.
"The mission is closely linked to Association of Chambers of Commerce of Latin America Business Future of the Americas conference, taking place in Colombia," the statement read.
AmCham said the conference attracts presidents and chief executives of the 23 AmChams in Latin America, senior executives of national and global corporations operating within the hemisphere. Also attending the conference were senior government officials from the United States and the region and experts in energy, environment, finance and trade. Among the T&T companies that went on the trade mission were Sacha Cosmetics Ltd, Afford Office Line, Phillips Energy Services Ltd, Phoenix Park Gas Processors Ltd, The TSL Group, E-Couriers Ltd, InterContinental Shipping Ltd, Aegis Business Solutions Ltd, Caribbean Insulation Services Ltd, the Business Development Company and Alleyne's Furniture and Appliances Ltd.
The T&T Chamber is to lead a trade mission to the Central American country, Guatemala, where members will the Induexpo 2011. The mission will be in Guatemala from June 21 to 24. Indu Expo has been described as the most important event of the Central American region, which offers areas of opportunity to promote business meetings amongst business professionals from 15 invited countries.
There will be a commercial display made from over 240 stands that allow entrepreneurs to make their products or services known, launch new products and support their brand image, making contact with potential clients and assisting their regular clients. It will be visited by over 6,000 Guatemalan and international visitors.
