Marcus Girdharie, an insurance agent at the Larry Gocool branch of Guardian Life of the Caribbean, has been appointed as the Million-Dollar Round Table’s (MDRT) zone chair for the Caribbean. Girdharie will also serve on MDRT’s membership communication committee (MCC), a nomination that was unanimously approved by the MCC’s executive committee, Guardian Life stated in a release. An MDRT life member with 11 years in the insurance industry, Guardian Life said Girdharie brings a wealth of knowledge and ethical values to his new role.

“In his new capacity, he aspires to realign the perception of the public regarding MDRT members and to exemplify the advantages of having a financial adviser as an MDRT member. “He also seeks to encourage more companies to participate in the mentoring programme that the MDRT has to offer and the ‘whole person’ concept, for which the MDRT stands. “As zone chair for the Caribbean, Girdharie is following in his branch manager’s footsteps, Larry Gocool, who held this very position four years ago,” the release stated.
