Mar­cus Gird­harie, an in­sur­ance agent at the Lar­ry Go­cool branch of Guardian Life of the Caribbean, has been ap­point­ed as the Mil­lion-Dol­lar Round Ta­ble's (MDRT) zone chair for the Caribbean. Gird­harie will al­so serve on MDRT's mem­ber­ship com­mu­ni­ca­tion com­mit­tee (MCC), a nom­i­na­tion that was unan­i­mous­ly ap­proved by the MCC's ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee, Guardian Life stat­ed in a re­lease. An MDRT life mem­ber with 11 years in the in­sur­ance in­dus­try, Guardian Life said Gird­harie brings a wealth of knowl­edge and eth­i­cal val­ues to his new role.

"In his new ca­pac­i­ty, he as­pires to re­align the per­cep­tion of the pub­lic re­gard­ing MDRT mem­bers and to ex­em­pli­fy the ad­van­tages of hav­ing a fi­nan­cial ad­vis­er as an MDRT mem­ber. "He al­so seeks to en­cour­age more com­pa­nies to par­tic­i­pate in the men­tor­ing pro­gramme that the MDRT has to of­fer and the 'whole per­son' con­cept, for which the MDRT stands. "As zone chair for the Caribbean, Gird­harie is fol­low­ing in his branch man­ag­er's foot­steps, Lar­ry Go­cool, who held this very po­si­tion four years ago," the re­lease stat­ed.
