The lo­cal chap­ter of the in­ter­na­tion­al char­i­ty, Unit­ed Way, is now in re­ceipt of $200,000 to con­tin­ue its so­cial in­ter­ven­tion ini­tia­tives. The funds were raised at a sig­na­ture steel­pan con­cert ti­tled, Starstruck, con­cep­tu­alised by the Neal and Massy Group and PCS Ni­tro­gen Trinidad Ltd and held at the pool­side at the Hilton Trinidad and Con­fer­ence Cen­tre on Oc­to­ber 1.

Reign­ing Na­tion­al Panora­ma cham­pi­on, Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars, and PCS Sil­ver Stars Steel Or­ches­tras, were the fea­tured acts at the pre­sen­ta­tion. Vo­cal­ists Ray­mond Ed­wards, Wen­dell Con­stan­tine and Denyse Plum­mer were the guest artistes join­ing the su­perb groups of pan­nists in the spot­light. The wear white af­fair at­tract­ed scores of pa­trons who danced to the in­fec­tious and ca­ress­ing sounds on steel and part-took of the ex­quis­ite gourmet cui­sine and de­light­ful cock­tails on of­fer.
