The Lok Jack GSB has responded to the need for consideration of key environmental factors which challenge the development of strategy at the company and country level. Such factors include the stimulation of the non-energy sector, the potential impact of mobile banking on the competitive and economic landscape, poor work ethic (culture) and uncertainty and possibility of a double dip global depression. In the current environment of uncertainty and cautious optimism, the Distinguished Alumni Series, to be held on February 2, 2012, from 5:30 pm at the Yara Auditorium, Lok Jack GSB Mount Hope campus, features presentations by: Howard Dottin, programme director, MSc international finance, Lok Jack GSB. Dottin has been in the financial field for more than 30 years. The theme for his presentation is: The potential impact of mobile banking on the competitive and economic landscape.
His credentials include a fellowship of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the Lok Jack GSB, for which he was the elected valedictorian. Dottin has worked as a chief financial officer in two of T&T's premier financial institutions, and as an auditor in a top auditing firm and the Board of Inland Revenue. He also has experience as a senior lender in the corporate banking sector, where he managed a portfolio which included energy-based companies and conglomerates. He has been teaching management accounting since 1988. Dottin's presentation will focus on the future of mobile banking: Will it change the competitive and economic landscape of banking, payment systems and money transfer in T&T and in developing countries across the world?
Hilary Bengochea, executive director at Sandee Communications Ltd; executive director at Customer Service Academy of T&T, executive business coach and trainer, adjunct lecturer, Arthur Lok Jack GSB. Bengochea is an expert on strategic marketing with a focus on entering and developing new international markets. He has over 25 years' experience in the field and has worked with blue chip companies, both locally and regionally. He holds a BSc from the University of the West Indies and an Executive Masters of Business Administration (with distinction) from the Lok Jack GSB. He also lectures in the IMBA and MM programmes and is an entrepreneur who successfully operates three small and medium enterprises.
Bengochea previously held the position of vice-president of international marketing with SM Jaleel and Company Ltd, marketing director of Carib Brewery, Caricom marketing manager for Coca Cola, sales manager at Johnson and Johnson, and executive director and chief executive director of the Export Centres of T&T.
Hilary's presentation helps attendees discover and learn how to capitalise on the new marketing revolution.

Dr Lennox Sealy, consultant, LSA Management Consultancy Services
Sealy was originally trained in the natural sciences between 1971 and 1975 at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Trinidad. In 1982, he completed his doctorate in biochemistry at the University of Nantes, France. In 1986, he obtained a post-graduate degree in management from the UWI. Further to this, he completed the Executive Masters in Business Administration at the Lok Jack GSB and started the consultancy firm, Lennox H Sealy and Associates. He has consulted with major firms such as: Cable and Wireless, Republic Company, Unit Trust Corporation, Ministry of Public Administration and Information as well as international firms such as Norsk Hydro, Phoenix Park Gas Processors and British American Tobacco. Sealy's particular area of interest is in the use of chaos theory in facilitating team-based organisational change and transformation.
Hayden Kublalsingh, director, EIL Group of Companies, will be deliberating on Survival or Strategy. His presentation aims to help business professionals answer the following:

• How do you grow in a recession?
• How do you maximise people power to take your business further?
• How do you leverage your strategy for competitive advantage?
• Are your products ready for regional and international export?
Kublalsingh will be using the business model of the EIL Group as a case study.
