Ansa Financial Services treated participants at the 31st annual Caribbean Insurance Conference to a true "Trini" lime on Tuesday. The venue was the Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, located on Dock Road, Port-of-Spain, at the close of a three-day conference presented by the Insurance Association of the Caribbean (IAC) with the theme "Back to Basics." There, guests partied to the music of Kes the Band, featuring lead vocalist and reigning Play Whe Groovy Soca Monarch Kees Dieffenthaller. Delivering a well-thought-out repertoire (with soca, reggae, pop and alternative styles), the popular music outfit created scenes of frenzy among financial executives who answered the singer's call to get on "wotless." Wotless was the title of the hit song that earned Dieffenthaller the coveted title and it came as no surprise that on the night, the musical item-which was used to open and close his performance-struck a positive chord with insurers.
After all, they are in the business of making money and the lyrics did talk about winning $1 million and the euphoria that would come with such a financial feat. The presence of costumed models added to the delight of guests. They shared photo opportunities with locals and visitors alike. At times, however, the models gave on-the-spot soca dance lessons to the visible delight of foreigners. Ansa Financial Services (which incorporates Tatil, Tatil Life and ANSA Merchant Bank) came in for high praise from conference organisers, being the lone platinum sponsor at the 31st Annual Caribbean Insurance Conference and sponsor of the sumptuous farewell dinner. Throughout the evening's soiree Tatil executives were seen hobnobbing and networking, consequently living up to the company's motto: At Tatil, People Are People.
