Dig­i­cel host­ed a cock­tail re­cep­tion on Au­gust 9 at the Hy­att Re­gency, Port-of-Spain to an­nounce its ac­qui­si­tion of Netxar Tech­nolo­gies. Netxar Tech­nolo­gies is a con­sult­ing com­pa­ny spe­cial­is­ing in the ar­chi­tec­ture, im­ple­men­ta­tion and man­age­ment of key net­work and in­for­ma­tion tech­nolo­gies. The com­pa­ny was found­ed in June 2000 in Nashua, New Hamp­shire, USA and lat­er moved to Puer­to Ri­co. Netxar boast that their con­sul­tants have achieved the high­est rat­ed in­dus­try and ven­dor se­cu­ri­ty cer­ti­fi­ca­tion.

Since Feb­ru­ary 2011 Netxar be­came part of the Dig­i­cel Group. Amongst guests at the re­cep­tion were Netxar's Ter­ri­to­ry man­ag­er Stephen Juter­am and pre-sales con­sul­tant Ot­to Sanchez. Dig­i­cel was rep­re­sent­ed by Aidan Hoey, head of busi­ness ser­vices; Chris Hay­man, sales di­rec­tor; Col­man Clif­ford, ICT busi­ness de­vel­op­ment man­ag­er; and Shaz­ad Ja­hoor, se­nior busi­ness de­vel­op­ment ex­ec­u­tive.
