Police probing the fatal shooting of taxi driver Shadeed “Shah” Seaton, said he was killed yesterday because of an ongoing gang war in the Barataria community. Seaton, 24, a father of one, of Second Caledonia, Morvant, was shot several times while repairing his vehicle at Sawmill Avenue in Barataria.  He died on the spot. A report said that around 2.30 pm, Seaton went to repair his Toyota Corolla at a nearby auto body shop when he was approached by gunmen while sitting in his car. The gunmen shot him.

In an interview yesterday at Sawmill Avenue, Gabriella John, the victim’s sister, denied he was a gang member. “He does not smoke or drink.  He never had a problem with nobody and the only thing he was on was girls. He was not on anything or even hold a gun,” John said. John said her brother was “in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
