First Cit­i­zens In­vest­ment Ser­vices (FCIS) launched their new in­ter­na­tion­al on-line and mo­bile in­vest­ment ser­vice of­fer­ing-Glob­al In­vest­ment So­lu­tions (GIS) at the Ban­quet and Con­fer­ence Cen­tre, Movie Towne, Port of Spain ear­li­er this month. The ser­vice is in part­ner­ship with Per­sh­ing LLC a sub­sidiary of The Bank of New York Mel­lon, one of the world's lead­ing providers of se­cu­ri­ties ser­vices.

In his wel­come to the ex­clu­sive clients in at­ten­dance, the deputy CEO–Bank­ing Op­er­a­tions, Lar­ry Nath stat­ed that "this ser­vice that mir­rors the spir­it and per­son­al­i­ty of the First Cit­i­zens brand in be­ing in­no­v­a­tive and pi­o­neer­ing." Per­sh­ing's Di­rec­tor, re­spon­si­ble for Glob­al Clients, Flo­rent Rigaud, was present and ex­pressed his de­light in part­ner­ing with the First Cit­i­zens Group on this project and was en­cour­aged by the po­ten­tial of the Trinidad and To­ba­go mar­ket.

The Gen­er­al Man­ag­er, FCIS, Ja­son Julien pro­vid­ed the au­di­ence with an overview of the state of the world econ­o­my and the cur­rent chal­lenges for the lo­cal in­vestor. "What is the lo­cal in­vestor to do in this cur­rent cli­mate of low in­vest­ment yields and weak­en­ing TT dol­lar? Glob­al In­vest­ment So­lu­tions is part of the so­lu­tion to these chal­lenges."

Daniel Youssef, Head of In­vest­ment Ad­vi­so­ry and Busi­ness De­vel­op­ment, de­scribed GIS as pro­vid­ing two ser­vice of­fer­ings to clients: "In­vest with Guid­ance"-a bro­ker­age ser­vice for clients who re­quire sup­port and/or do not have the time to un­der­take the re­spon­si­bil­i­ty of trad­ing and; "In­vest on your Own"-for the mar­ket savvy clients who can en­gage in the new on­line trad­ing plat­form; which can al­so be ac­cessed from your mo­bile phone.

FCIS in con­junc­tion with bmo­bile pro­vid­ed on-site demon­stra­tions of the GIS ser­vice and is of­fer­ing the first 100 clients to sign up for the ser­vice a 15 per cent dis­count on any Sam­sung Galaxy smart phone or tablet de­vice from bmo­bile.
