Overall Market activity resulted from trading in nine securities of which three advanced, two declined and four traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 315,087 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $2,427,507.18.
The Composite Index advanced by 2.07 points, or by 0.20 per cent, to close at 1,027.06, while the All T&T Index advanced by 4.61 points, or by 0.30 per cent, to close at 1,537.58. The Cross Listed Index declined by 0.04 points, or 0.06 per cent, to close at 65.51.
Sagicor Financial Corporation was the volume leader with 124,621 shares changing hands for a value of $903,502.25, followed by Trinidad Cement Ltd with a volume of 89,529 shares being traded for $134,276.84. Jamaica Money Market Brokers contributed 54,569 shares with a value of $45,837.96, while FirstCaribbean International Bank added 27,425 shares valued at $233,112.50.
Republic Bank Ltd enjoyed the day's largest gain, increasing $1.34 to end the day at $97.11. Conversely, Sagicor Financial Corporation suffered the day's greatest loss, falling $0.15 to close at $7.25. The mutual fund and second tier markets did not record any activity.
