Scotia investments trades $3.5m in shares

Overall market activity resulted from trading in nine securities of which one advanced, one declined and seven traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 419,968 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $3,272,201.24. The Composite Index declined by 0.53 points, or 0.05 per cent, to close at 1,023.16, while the All T&T Index remained at 1,538.83. The Cross Listed Index declined by 0.12 points, 0.19 per cent, to close at 64.45.
Scotia Investment Jamaica Ltd was the volume leader with 170,000 shares changing hands for a value of $357,000.00, followed by National Commercial Bank Jamaica with a volume of 161,516 shares being traded for $263,255.92. Unilever Caribbean Ltd contributed 62,200 shares with a value of $2,375,027.17.
Unilever Caribbean Ltd enjoyed the day’s sole price increase, climbing $0.01 to end the day at $38.18. Conversely, National Commercial Bank Jamaica suffered the day’s sole decline, falling $0.02 to end the day at $1.63. The mutual fund market did not record any activity. Fortress Caribbean Property Caribbean Fund remained at $5.00. Praetorian Property Mutual Fund remained at $3.39. Savinvest India Asia Fund remained at $61.49.
The second tier market did not witness any activity. FNCU Venture Capital Company (SUSPENDED) remained at $1.00. Mora Ven Holdings remained at $15.65.
