GHL jumps by $0.52

Overall market activity resulted from trading in 13 securities of which six advanced, four declined and three traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 305,189 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $1,964,155.29.
The Composite Index advanced by 1.17 points, or by 0.11 per cent, to close at 1,044.90, while the All T&T Index advanced by 3.57 points, or by 0.23 per cent, to close at 1,583.50. The Cross Listed Index declined by 0.14 points, or by 0.22 per cent, to close at 64.43.
National Commercial Bank Jamaica was the volume leader with 269,147 shares changing hands for a value of $445,479.10, followed by Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago with a volume of 15,448 shares being traded for $959,011.28. Guardian Holdings Ltd contributed 11,000 shares with a value of $181,451.25, while The West Indian Tobacco (Witco) added 3,997 shares valued at $286,025.32.
Guardian Holdings Ltd enjoyed the day's largest gain, increasing $0.52 to end the day at $16.50. Witco added $0.25 to close at $71.56. Conversely, National Commercial Bank Jamaica suffered the day's greatest loss, falling $0.02 to close at $1.66.
Praetorian Property Mutual Fund was the only active security on the Mutual Fund Market, posting a volume of 1,000 shares valued at $3,800.Praetorian Property Mutual Fund advanced by $0.06 to end at $3.80. The second tier market did not witness any activity.
