Unilever increases to $41.50

Overall market activity resulted from trading in 12 securities of which four advanced, three declined and five traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier market registered a volume of 114,551 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $1,657,490.71. The Composite Index advanced by 0.05 points, or by 0.00 per cent, to close at 1,070.26, while the All T&T Index advanced by 1.46 points, or by 0.09 per cent to close at 1,638.61. The Cross Listed Index declined by 0.16 points. or 0.25 per cent, to close at 64.06. 
 
Scotia Investments Jamaica Ltd was the volume leader with 50,966 shares changing hands for a value of $123,243.80, followed by Guardian Holdings Ltd with a volume of 41,502 shares being traded for $828,055.45. Neal & Massy Holdings contributed 11,992 shares with a value of $569,702.56, while Jamaica Money Market Brokers added 3,000 shares valued at $2,220. Unilever Caribbean Ltd enjoyed the day's largest gain, increasing $0.24 to end the day at $41.50. Scotiabank T&T added $0.24 to close at $62.75.
