Overall market activity resulted from trading in 11 securities of which six advanced, one declined and four traded firm. Trading activity on the first tier Market registered a volume of 401,022 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange valued at $5,840,787.93.
National Commercial Bank Jamaica was the volume leader with 191,049 shares changing hands for a value of $311,399.87, followed by Trinidad Cement Ltd with a volume of 70,000 shares being traded for $125,126.25. Republic Bank Ltd contributed 41,133 shares with a value of $4,503,507.64.
Republic Bank Ltd enjoyed the day’s largest gain, increasing $0.41 to end the day at $109.49. GraceKennedy also climbed, adding $0.18 to close at $3.78. Conversely, Trinidad Cement Ltd suffered the day’s sole decline, falling $0.06 to end the day at $1.79. The mutual fund and second tier markets did not record any activity.
