Burger Boys Ltd has been awarded the Large Business of the Year 2012 award by Antigua-based organisation, Caribbean Business Awards (CBA). CBA is a business recognition awards programme which is supported by the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC).
The awards programme celebrates excellence, achievement and innovation in the Caribbean. CBA also rewards best practice in companies and is the showcase for Caribbean skills, achievements and innovation in the field of business. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mario Sabga-Aboud, group chairman, Pizza Boys Group of Companies said he was honoured to be presented with the award and to be recognised as a large business which employs 1,000 employees.
"I have always all my life thought Trinidad was everything, I never realised how beautiful and how much potential the Caribbean has until five years ago when I started to travel to see if I could take Rituals Coffee house to the Caribbean where I knew absolutely no one at all.
"I went to every island started to meet people, tell them about what I do and everybody (who I spoke to) said nobody drinks coffee in the Caribbean, it's not going to be a good idea. I convinced them to come to T&T and look at what I have done," he said. The ceremony was held yesterday, at Pizza Boys Group of Companies head office, Lower Boundary Road, San Juan.
