Burg­er Boys Ltd has been award­ed the Large Busi­ness of the Year 2012 award by An­tigua-based or­gan­i­sa­tion, Caribbean Busi­ness Awards (CBA). CBA is a busi­ness recog­ni­tion awards pro­gramme which is sup­port­ed by the Caribbean As­so­ci­a­tion of In­dus­try and Com­merce (CA­IC).

The awards pro­gramme cel­e­brates ex­cel­lence, achieve­ment and in­no­va­tion in the Caribbean. CBA al­so re­wards best prac­tice in com­pa­nies and is the show­case for Caribbean skills, achieve­ments and in­no­va­tion in the field of busi­ness. Speak­ing at the pre­sen­ta­tion cer­e­mo­ny, Mario Sab­ga-Aboud, group chair­man, Piz­za Boys Group of Com­pa­nies said he was ho­n­oured to be pre­sent­ed with the award and to be recog­nised as a large busi­ness which em­ploys 1,000 em­ploy­ees.

"I have al­ways all my life thought Trinidad was every­thing, I nev­er re­alised how beau­ti­ful and how much po­ten­tial the Caribbean has un­til five years ago when I start­ed to trav­el to see if I could take Rit­u­als Cof­fee house to the Caribbean where I knew ab­solute­ly no one at all.

"I went to every is­land start­ed to meet peo­ple, tell them about what I do and every­body (who I spoke to) said no­body drinks cof­fee in the Caribbean, it's not go­ing to be a good idea. I con­vinced them to come to T&T and look at what I have done," he said. The cer­e­mo­ny was held yes­ter­day, at Piz­za Boys Group of Com­pa­nies head of­fice, Low­er Bound­ary Road, San Juan.
