Rest in peace my Valentine

“Watch nah! Allyuh try and remember where I living. Try an sen out this paper early tonight.” These were the last words Junior Valentine spoke to me. And while he said it with a smirk, I knew he was deadly serious. I have known Junior for the past 27 years since I was a junior sports reporter. I worked with him on the management of the Guardian Sports Club, handling the bar for the calypso competition (even though he did not drink alcohol), and as the stalwart of the sports and family day.

 

These events will never be the same again. The bright smile and infectious laughter are gone forever.
