Digicel will be launching BlackBerry’s new Z 10 model in T&T in April. This follows the official launch of BlackBerry’s new model smartphone on Wednesday in New York.

A Digicel release on Thursday said: “BlackBerry 10 is a re-designed, re-engineered and re-invented BlackBerry platform that creates a powerful and unique new mobile computing experience. BlackBerry 10 gives customers a faster and smarter experience that continuously adapts to their needs. Every feature, every gesture, and every detail is designed to keep customers moving and includes advancements.”

The new BlackBerry was launched with favourable reviews and BlackBerry said this new model is totally “re-designed, re-engineered and re-invented.” Although BlackBerry has lost market share in large markets like the US, it remains popular in emerging markets in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

From February 4, maker of BlackBerry, formerly known Research in Motion (RIM) will be traded under the name as BBRY on the Nasdaq, and as BB on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
