The Cine Club of the Indian High Commission launched its Indian Film Festival on January 27, at the Daaga Auditorium at the St Augustine Campus of the UWI. The event commemorated 100 years of Indian cinema. Indian High Commissioner Malay Mishra and Roodal Moonilal—in his capacity as acting Foreign Affairs Minister—both delivered greetings.

Moonilal congratulated the government and people of India for celebrating 63 years as a republic and highlighted the “deep rooted” relationship they shared with the people of T&T. In attendance were members of the business community and the diplomatic corps. Patrons were treated to free Indian films (with English subtitles) daily up until yesterday.
