Large contractors, crane and quarry operators and land developers in T&T will soon be able to have their large and extra large industrial tyres recapped. Automotive Components Limited (ACL) is now successfully recapping large industrial tyres through a partnership Bridgestone Bandag, a first for this country.
The tyres are being recapped using the Brigdestone Bandag Continuum recapping process, which until now, was a service offered overseas in Australia, North America and Africa. It isnow solely available through ACL, the official distributors of Bridgestone Bandag recaps.
This type of recapping process is applicable to all aspects of quarrying and earth moving equipment in T&T, as well as the wider Caribbean. Sizes covered by the process are between 20.5R25 and 2400R35 and it guarantees a fifty per cent saving on industrial tyre purchases when compared to the cost of purchasing new tyres. The process also impacts positively on the environment, since it involves the recycling of used tyres.
In a statement the company said: "ACL has always prided itself on being an environmentally proactive organisation by reducing our carbon footprint through our automotive battery collection division, as well as maintaining 15 years of operations as the only licensed CNG installer of automotive conversion kits and CNG GAS stations."ACL is a member of the Automotive and Industrial Equipment Business Unit of the Neal and Massy Group of Companies.
