Construction jobs coming with $$ to build facilities

More construction jobs are coming to T&T. So said Rudranath Indarsingh, the minister in the Ministry of Finance, who is also the Couva South MP. Indarsingh was speaking at a town meeting on Saturday at the California Government School. He said the Government last week signed a $1.8 billion loan with the Exim Bank of China for the construction of six state of the art sporting facilities including an aquatic centre at Balmain and The Couva Children’s Hospital and Burns Centre.
Indarsingh said the projects would require at least 40 per cent local input and labour which he said was good for the local construction industry. He said the hospital should be completed next year and the dualling of the Rivulet Road should commence this year and also create more jobs. Indarsingh said his constituents are in full support of the Government amendment to the Defence Act and are standing behind them to legalise the operations of soldiers in giving assistance to the policy.
He said it was the ambition of the opposition PNM to see the government give up on crime and use measures to distract the population just o score political points.
