Dr Michael Maccoby, a globally rercognised expert on leadership, will be the featured speaker at a breakfast meeting on union-management relations, Bridging the Divide, next Friday at the TT Chamber of Industry and Commerce headquarters in Westmoorings.
Dr Maccoby, president of the Maccoby Group of Washington, is a psychoanalyst and anthropologist known for his research, writing and projects to improve organisations and work, as well as his practical experience in building consensus and a more collaborative process in workplace dynamics.Among his most referenced works are the famous case article AT&T: Cooperation is not Enough and The Leaders we Need.
He has authored and/or co-authored thirteen books; consulted to companies, governments, the World Bank, unions, research and development centres, laboratories, universities and orphanages; and taught in thirty-six countries.His address will focus on the leadership required to break the impasse between management and labour, and alternative industrial relations models to respond to the changing nature of work, and new economic and competitive realities.
