Com­pa­ny spir­it was high at The Na­tion­al Gas Com­pa­ny's (NGC's) re­cent ho­n­our­ing of em­ploy­ees who best ex­em­pli­fied the spir­it of the en­er­gy com­pa­ny. By the end of the evening, one of them, Roger Fron­tin, Se­nior Su­per­vi­sor, Plan­ning (Ag), had risen to the top to take the cov­et­ed NGC Pres­i­dent's Award.

NGC's Em­ploy­ee Recog­ni­tion Awards Cer­e­mo­ny was held at the Hilton Trinidad's Grand Ball­room with the open­ing ad­dress de­liv­ered by Cas­san­dra Pa­trovani Sylvester, NGC's Vice-Pres­i­dent, Hu­man and Cor­po­rate Re­la­tions. The event ho­n­oured out­stand­ing mem­bers of staff, em­ploy­ees with 10 to 30 years' ser­vice, as well as those with ex­cel­lent safe­ty records.

Be­fore re­ceiv­ing the Pres­i­dent's Award from NGC's Pres­i­dent, In­dar Ma­haraj, Roger Fron­tin was cel­e­brat­ed for hav­ing topped se­lect cat­e­gories of awards which are open to staff across the com­pa­ny.He re­ceived an award, the NGC Com­mu­ni­ty Spir­it Award for ini­ti­at­ing cy­cling pro­grammes for fit­ness and leisure, both at the na­tion­al and com­mu­ni­ty lev­els, as well for his ac­tive role in NGC's HR Well­ness Ped­al Squad, the com­pa­ny's cy­cling crew.

The evening's five oth­er big win­ners in­clud­ed two teams, a su­per­vi­sor, a team leader and a trainee.The NGC Spir­it Award went to con­struc­tion su­per­vi­sor Sir­cliffe Thomp­son for go­ing be­yond the call of du­ty in de­liv­er­ing com­mu­ni­ty projects on time and un­der bud­get to the sat­is­fac­tion of com­mu­ni­ty groups and with sav­ings for NGC.

Two NGC Project Team Spir­it Awards for first and sec­ond place were hand­ed out. First place went to the LNG Sale Ne­go­ti­a­tion Team of Vin­od Ra­jku­mar, Re­han­na Ram­sa­hai and Reeya Bho­lai for ne­go­ti­at­ing the sale of two LNG car­goes at su­pe­ri­or prof­it.

The sec­ond NGC Project Team Spir­it award went to the In­for­ma­tion Ser­vices De­part­ment (ISD) team of Ker­win Col­ley, June Montoute-My­ers, Kyle Year­wood, Dwayne De Four, Mar­garet Har­riott-Williams, Reuel Kir­paul, Deneille Daniel, Geor­gia Gar­bo-Noel, Al­isha Ram­lochan, Ste­fan Trim, Les­ley Ann Tull-Mc Tair, Justin Jones, Keron Alexan­der, Aretha Fran­cis, Tiffany Ram­sey, Leonard Charles and Mar­vin Bellesmythe for suc­cess­ful­ly im­ple­ment­ing the ex­hi­bi­tion A Jour­ney Through the Years in com­mem­o­ra­tion of T&T's In­de­pen­dence Ju­bilee.

The NGC Spir­it Builder Award went to An­to­nia Lucky, Cor­po­rate Lead (En­vi­ron­ment, Health and Safe­ty) for her "un­re­lent­ing ded­i­ca­tion" and gen­er­al en­thu­si­asm.The award for NGC Trainee Spir­it was copped by Ravin­dra Jaglals­ingh of the Trainee En­gi­neer Pro­gramme for demon­strat­ing NGC's core val­ues in his work on three projects � Peake's Pe­tro­le­um Ser­vices Ltd., VM­COTT and PTSC.

The gath­er­ing was ad­dressed by NGC's pres­i­dent, In­dar Ma­haraj, and chair­man, Roop Chan Chadeesingh, both of whom com­mend­ed the staff for their ded­i­ca­tion and hard work. En­er­gy and En­er­gy Af­fairs Min­is­ter Kevin Ram­nar­ine de­liv­ered the fea­ture ad­dress.The evening was round­ed off with a fun com­pe­ti­tion and en­ter­tain­ment by Neval Chate­lal, sax­o­phon­ist Fran­cis Prime and the band H2OFLO.

At the end of it all, the vote of thanks was pre­sent­ed by Long Ser­vice re­cip­i­ent, Shafick Mo­hammed who has worked with NGC for over 30 years.
