Company spirit was high at The National Gas Company's (NGC's) recent honouring of employees who best exemplified the spirit of the energy company. By the end of the evening, one of them, Roger Frontin, Senior Supervisor, Planning (Ag), had risen to the top to take the coveted NGC President's Award.
NGC's Employee Recognition Awards Ceremony was held at the Hilton Trinidad's Grand Ballroom with the opening address delivered by Cassandra Patrovani Sylvester, NGC's Vice-President, Human and Corporate Relations. The event honoured outstanding members of staff, employees with 10 to 30 years' service, as well as those with excellent safety records.
Before receiving the President's Award from NGC's President, Indar Maharaj, Roger Frontin was celebrated for having topped select categories of awards which are open to staff across the company.He received an award, the NGC Community Spirit Award for initiating cycling programmes for fitness and leisure, both at the national and community levels, as well for his active role in NGC's HR Wellness Pedal Squad, the company's cycling crew.
The evening's five other big winners included two teams, a supervisor, a team leader and a trainee.The NGC Spirit Award went to construction supervisor Sircliffe Thompson for going beyond the call of duty in delivering community projects on time and under budget to the satisfaction of community groups and with savings for NGC.
Two NGC Project Team Spirit Awards for first and second place were handed out. First place went to the LNG Sale Negotiation Team of Vinod Rajkumar, Rehanna Ramsahai and Reeya Bholai for negotiating the sale of two LNG cargoes at superior profit.
The second NGC Project Team Spirit award went to the Information Services Department (ISD) team of Kerwin Colley, June Montoute-Myers, Kyle Yearwood, Dwayne De Four, Margaret Harriott-Williams, Reuel Kirpaul, Deneille Daniel, Georgia Garbo-Noel, Alisha Ramlochan, Stefan Trim, Lesley Ann Tull-Mc Tair, Justin Jones, Keron Alexander, Aretha Francis, Tiffany Ramsey, Leonard Charles and Marvin Bellesmythe for successfully implementing the exhibition A Journey Through the Years in commemoration of T&T's Independence Jubilee.
The NGC Spirit Builder Award went to Antonia Lucky, Corporate Lead (Environment, Health and Safety) for her "unrelenting dedication" and general enthusiasm.The award for NGC Trainee Spirit was copped by Ravindra Jaglalsingh of the Trainee Engineer Programme for demonstrating NGC's core values in his work on three projects � Peake's Petroleum Services Ltd., VMCOTT and PTSC.
The gathering was addressed by NGC's president, Indar Maharaj, and chairman, Roop Chan Chadeesingh, both of whom commended the staff for their dedication and hard work. Energy and Energy Affairs Minister Kevin Ramnarine delivered the feature address.The evening was rounded off with a fun competition and entertainment by Neval Chatelal, saxophonist Francis Prime and the band H2OFLO.
At the end of it all, the vote of thanks was presented by Long Service recipient, Shafick Mohammed who has worked with NGC for over 30 years.
